Loneliness The beautiful young girl gradually trudged up the smooth marble steps, while slightly lifting the front of her lengthy silver silk dress out of the way as she walked. When she reached the top, she headed over to the concrete beige balcony, where a few white doves strolled around and pecked their beaks against the concrete. The girl walked over to the edge of the balcony, looked down at the earth below her, and instantly slumped over the railing. The alarmed doves jumped in surprise and quickly fluttered away. As the girl let out a deep sigh, she gazed out at the calming sunset, and let out a sad frown on her rose colored lips. As she stared at the gorgeous sun, she gingerly lifted her arm, covered in elbow length silk gloves and reached out for the sunset. She felt like she could gently float in the air and touch the sky, but never come down again to face her problems. Her face was filled with depression as she placed her arm back on the balcony railing and slowly slumped down on the solid concrete. Suddenly, an army of soldiers in shining gray armor came rushing forth towards the beautiful girl, as they immediately bowed before her. “Your highness, you must stay within the castle walls to be safe from outsiders. If you need something, just call us and we’d be happy to serve you. You can’t go wandering off by yourself like this; it’s dangerous. Your mother and father would be worried sick if you went missing. So please, princess; let us escort you back to the castle,” pleaded a soldier. The princess glared at the soldiers as she gracefully stood back up. “How dare you come here and intrude! I am the princess and I get to do wherever I please. Now get out!” She angrily turned her back to them, as the ribbon tying around her long black hair whipped around her shoulder.
