Overview Your final dissertation is the documentation of a piece of research in the area of your chosen specialism. At this level you are expected to reflect the latest techniques and technologies which are considered to be at the forefront of current knowledge. This is a Level 7 award and as such you are expected to demonstrate initiative and originality in problem solving. In order to produce a valid research project, it is necessary to have clearly defined, achievable targets and to base the project on current research, knowledge and best practice in the field. Thus, a clear project proposal and a literature review are required. If you are studying one of the named routes, then your final dissertation must be in an area related to your named route. This module and its assessment are designed to ensure you have the necessary skills to proceed to your dissertation phase.
